JOINT TASK FORCE FRANCE

In the last newsletter, I wrote I had just finished Chapter 6 of JOINT TASK FORCE FRANCE. I have learned a valuable writing lesson. Be sure to keep up when the due date is for your manuscript. For some reason I thought the submission date was mid-February, instead it was mid-November. What a difference three-months makes! Luckily, my characters had taken a life of their own and were able to beat a path to the finale in the book.

I am already 10,000 words into the last of the JOINT TASK FORCE series, JOINT TASK FORCE AFRICA. I thinking about what I would like to tackle next. The idea of writing a book mainly about Seabees was broached by a close professional friend of mind, Joe Buff (read his books, you won't be disappointed) who introduced me through the virtual world of the Internet with retired Seabee Chief 'Storming' Normand who is on a mission to highlight the Seabees to the American public. The book started with little to do about the Seabees except they were being transported across the Atlantic aboard an amphibious ship to do humanitarian work in Liberia. From there, the Seabees dovetailed nicely into the tale to become main characters as the story progressed. I hope every one will read the book and learn more about Seabees.

JOINT TASK FORCE AFRICA is Meadows' newest novel scheduled for release in March 2005.
