been there. David Meadows is the real thing,"
"When Meadows' men set sail, it's sure to be a mission like no
other."
"An absorbing, compelling look at America's future place in
the world. It's visionary, and scary. Great battle scenes,
believable heroes, plus villains you'll love to hate!"
"Capt. Dave Meadows is one of those rare military authors
who writes with precision about this subject and also manages
to tell us one hell of a good yarn."
JOINT TASK FORCE LIBERIA — ISBN: 0-425-19206-7
This first book of the new JOINT TASK FORCE series has
been released. I don't have the sales figures yet, but hope if
you haven't read it, you'll call your favorite bookseller and
ask him or her to reserve several hundred copies of the book
for you when it arrives. Opps! For mass-market fiction, most
bookstores only carry a few copies and when they're sold,
they eventually get around to ordering more when the buying
public keeps asking for them. By the time they sell out, the
market has moved on to another series of books. So, call
ahead and reserve a copy for yourself.
JOINT TASK FORCE AMERICA - ISBN: 0-425-19482-5
This second book of the Joint Task Force series is available
for prepublication reservations both online or at your favorite
book store. You can visit
http://www.sixthfleet.com to order
on line. And, can join our coordinated buying club.
Once again, my thanks for those who continue to shift my
books from wherever a bookstore places them to the 'new
arrivals' or 'recommended' shelves. From the nurse in
Annapolis to the cowboy in Montana—even when no one
buys the books, they are at least seeing movement. I am
continuing to weigh the ethics of this, but so far the humor
outweighs it. I have never heard any booksellers formally
complain, but then again, I always wear a set of those
eyeglasses with a nose and mustache attached. Those, plus
the long raincoats help to divert their attention from the
twenty or so books I'm shifting from the rank & file to a
better place for attention.
I will close with my disclaimer to ensure everyone knows I
have never met a bookseller I didn't like. (You can never tell
when one of them might be reading this. Pissing off
booksellers is like not eating your Mom's Thanksgiving
dinner—difference is your Mom may invite you back.)
JOINT TASK FORCE AFRICA is
Meadows' newest novel scheduled for release in March 2005.
A Navy EP-3E is hit by a missile and before the pilot can
recover control of the aircraft four aircrew bail out over
West Africa, landing in the middle of an African civil war.
It is a fast-pace story as Admiral Holman races to rescue the
Sailors before they are killed or captured.

"When Meadows' men set sail, it's sure to be a mission like no other."
"Fast-paced, roller-coaster ride with this exhilarating military thriller. Dynamic writer with a fresh voice in this technical-ridden, yet intriguing genre."
"An absorbing, compelling look at America's future. Visionary, scary. Great battle scenes, believable heroes, plus villains you'll love to hate!"
